About Lydia Hansen

I've been crocheting since I was 12 years old. Now based in SE MN, I create art with a blend of nontraditional crochet and elements of other fiber art forms.

As an artist, I'm most interested on exploring texture and color through yarn. I love the way crochet's 3D qualities can mimic shapes and patterns found in nature, and much of my art is inspired by things I've seen or touched. I also draw on other art forms such as painting, woodworking, and collage to challenge conventional ideas of what crochet can be.
